My name is Patricia Gomez (De Falco). I am 55 years old and grew up in Totowa Boro. My parents had a jewelry store at 302 Union Blvd called "Boro Jewelers". I went to Holy Angeles School in Little Falls but lived in Totowa Boro. I went to High School at PV but moved away before graduation. I really like your website and if I can find some photos in my album I will e-mail them to you. I was married to Sal Capo. Perhaps you knew him?

Wow, what memories this website brings back to me. I lived up the street from Cozy's, graduated PV in '66. I had a hard time recognizing people from the reunion pics, but some people haven't changed much, maybe a little grey. I remember hanging out at Pappy's and the Dairy Queen parking lot with my cousin, Bernadette. It's hard to believe that 40 years have gone by! Thanks for creating this site of great memories! Unable to be at the reunion. Did have fond memories of the best hot chocolate with whipped cream in the mid to late fifties. Memorial school with Thursday dance time and Mrs. Tintle. Still have trophy as "best dancer" mashed potatoes. Playing single wall handball behind the church and Mem. school stickball games. What more can the only Jew in Totowa remember in those days. Laurie, Great website, brings back memories. I lived in Totowa for 39 years. Sold my parents house on Franklin Place after they both passed away a few years ago, raised my kids there and moved after my husband Dave died in 1995, but it will always be home. We always say, "You can take the girl out of the Boro, but you can't take the Boro out of the girl." How about more pictures from readers and more names after their notes.. Thanks again, Anna (Di Salvo) Arlington

I just found this website again! Since I retired from teaching in Totowa 2 years ago I've had the time to think about my 33 years in the Totowa school system. I had many students that were affected by my opinions and behaviors. Hopefully I was a positive influence on the majority of kids. I never gave a failing grade on a report card since I believed that school work should never be judged by such limited criteria as tests. I'm happy to say that about 25 former students have contacted me with some great stories and affirmations. I've encouraged some of my former colleagues to make some comments on this website. I know a few have made the effort. Since I am still a dreamer of sorts, I hope that more Totowa memories will soon be shared. I recognize some of the names on the emails and the flashbacks are priceless. They say you cant go home again and thats true ,but you can visit and reap the benefits of forgotten times.I have a pretty busy schedule since I retired because I love to be involved with many different activities. I'm thinking of becoming an EMT in Fair Lawn since they need ambulance volunteers on the day shift. If anyone cares to email me I will answer all within a short period of time. Feel free to let me know your accomplishments, family situations etc. I still care and I'm very curious about what my former students have done with their lives! Steve Sherman

Grew up directly across Route 46 from Pappy's in the home that is now a cleaners. Went back to Pappy's for a hot dog on a recent trip. It was not the Pappy's I knew but neither was the Fall's View. My generation was the late 40's and early 50's. The best hot dog around was not Libby's, Fall's View or Pappy's, it was Jimmy Donohue's on Route 23 in Mountain View where Babe Ruth, a couple of generations before me, use to go to devour deep fryed hot dogs.

I love hearing stories about the "old days", it's so facinating to me what you guys did & how different times were back then. It's funny to see pictures of people I know now when they were younger!!! I love your website, I will keep checking up on it to see if you add anything new.

Laurie,
Your site is truly a "work in progress"! It's neat to see how it brings so many people together! Keep up the good work. My kids enjoy looking at the site with me. (They laugh when they see the pictures and styles of hair and clothes!) As they get older, it makes me remember what we had in Totowa while we were growing up. It was a special place. You don't find communities like that any more!

Cool site on Totowa. I never lived in Totowa but visited it often as my 2 cousins, and aunt and uncle lived there. In fact my mom, her sister, and family were I occupants of the "Stone House" across from Washington Park School from 1920 - 1925 when they moved into the house my grandfather built on top of the hill on Totowa Road and my one cousin still lives there - 80 years later. - Wayne -
